Channel 2 wichita is not a gimmicky paid-directory, or a cookie-cutter “community portal” run by some spammy outfit in California. We’re locally developed, owned and based right here in Wichita, Kansas.

2 wichita is the one spot where you can find out what’s happening right-now, on the Web in Wichita. It’s kind of like a search engine, but think of it more as a big bulletin board full of fresh, hand-picked links.
These links aren’t just Web site home pages, but direct links to useful Web resources… the pages, the lists, the events calendars, the blog entries, photos, videos, news articles, forum threads and other stuff on the minds—and mouses—of Wichitans.
These links, or bookmarks, are added by our growing list of contributors consisting of local bloggers, social networkers, content-creators and Web-savvy information gatherers from across the Wichita-metro area and south-central Kansas.
You can use the home page to keep up with the latest buzz. Or, you can follow individual “tags” to track stuff you’re in to. Popular tags include: aviation, music, photos, video and wsu. Check out all popular tags here.
Labs
This is where we build and test experimental Web applications to help you find local content.
Current lab projects include several Custom Google Search Engines, and a clickable Web Map of Wichita (think “Links Page” on steroids) with Wichita’s most visited sites.
Blog
Presently, our blog is used mostly for site-news and highlighting ranked Wichita sites from our Web Index.
As we add contributors, we’ll feature a mish-mash of commentary, rants, raves and reviews of Wichita arts, entertainment, food, drink, politics, etc…
Web Index
2 wichita also maintains a database of over one thousand top local Web sites and Blogs, and many more individual Web pages, social network profiles, bookmarks, feeds and other Wichita-related content from around the Web.
We track public and private Web metrics to determine the popularity and “interestingness” of Wichita Web pages and organize them into the 2 wichita Web Site Index. We periodically publish lists of the top Wichita sites, in various categories, based on this index. >> more about the Wichita Web Index
